THE ODYSSEY: A NATIONAL STORY unveils the remarkable journey of how the National Theatre’s most ambitious nationwide community theatre project was brought to life, with moving portraits of company members as they prepare to be on stage, some for the first time in their lives.

It follows the creation of the 2023 landmark Public Acts production of "The Odyssey" which was reimagined with hundreds of community members in five episodes in Stoke-on-Trent, Doncaster, Trowbridge, Sunderland, and the National Theatre in London, celebrating the transformative power of theatre in bringing communities together.
